Backyard Passage (1982- 1988)
Transported to the third new home in two years, our life began again in the Deep South in fall, 1982. “Backyard Passage” (1982- 85) and “The Grace of Dying” (1985- 1988) were collections of drawings and paintings in various media of close contact with a unique “back of beyond” on Mississippi’s Black Prairie. Our “Cottage on the Knoll”, built in 1938, offered 2 rolling acres with a be-creatured creek and shared forest. What else could one need?
My appointment in teaching at Mississippi State University (painting/drawing/administration), and Debby’s (dance/dance history) spanned over 36 years.
